Africa & African Diaspora
Africa & Diaspora Venture Scouting
Great ideas and exceptional entrepreneurial talent aren't limited by geography.
I'm developing an independent venture scouting practice focused on discovering promising African founders, startups, innovators, and entrepreneurial talent — across Africa and throughout the global African diaspora.
My focus is on identifying potential, understanding what people are building, and exploring meaningful connections with investors, strategic partners, and entrepreneurial ecosystems.
Whether the right opportunity is in someone's own city, elsewhere in their country, across Africa, or around the world — what matters is finding the right connection.
Focus Areas
My approach is built around three interconnected pathways for discovering and connecting African entrepreneurial talent.
01 — Within Africa
On-continent scouting
Identifying promising African founders, startups, and innovators and exploring connections with relevant investors, partners, resources, and opportunities — within the same city, the same country, or across African borders.
02 — Diaspora to Africa
Diaspora → Continent
Discovering African founders, innovators, and entrepreneurs in the diaspora who may benefit from relationships, partnerships, or opportunities within Africa — commercial, strategic, or investment-related. Returning or relocating is not a requirement.
03 — Within the Diaspora & Beyond
Global diaspora
Discovering African founders, startups, and innovators based outside Africa and exploring connections that help them advance their ventures — in their current markets, across the global diaspora, or wherever the best fit exists.
Who I Connect With
Founders & Startups
African founders building innovative businesses, whether based on the continent or in the diaspora.
Investors & VC Professionals
Investors interested in discovering emerging African entrepreneurial talent and business opportunities.
Accelerators & Hubs
Organizations supporting startup development, founder growth, and entrepreneurial ecosystems.
Strategic Partners
Professionals and organizations creating commercial and collaborative opportunities for African founders.
My Approach
My background in entrepreneurship, business development, relationship-building, and strategic thinking shapes how I approach venture scouting.
I'm interested in more than a compelling pitch. I want to understand the people behind the ideas, the problems they're solving, the markets they're serving, and the opportunities ahead of them.
As I develop this independent professional focus, my priority is to learn, build relationships, identify promising ventures, and explore connections that could help founders and businesses move forward.
Whether you're an African founder building in Accra, Nairobi, Lagos, Toronto, London, New York, or anywhere else — I'd welcome the opportunity to learn about what you're creating.
